Monica Nelson is a highly experienced and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) with 19 years of combined healthcare experience spanning primary care, acute care, and hospital-based nursing. She brings a deep commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care to every clinical encounter.
Mrs. Nelson earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and holds active licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Florida (License # ARNP11016780). She is a proud member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (STTI), reflecting her dedication to nursing excellence and lifelong professional development.
Prior to joining Spacecoast Infectious Disease Care, Mrs. Nelson served as a Nurse Practitioner at Brevard Health Alliance in Palm Bay, Florida, where she worked for nearly three years in both primary care and acute care walk-in clinic settings. In primary care, she provided comprehensive care to diverse adult populations, managing chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, whole-person care. In the acute care setting, she performed rapid assessments, managed urgent infections, respiratory illnesses, and musculoskeletal conditions, performed wound care procedures, and ensured timely referrals to specialty and emergency services when needed.
Before her career as a Nurse Practitioner, Mrs. Nelson dedicated 15 years to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida, where she excelled as a Clinical Charge Nurse on the Mother/Baby Postpartum Unit. In that role, she provided expert care to mothers and newborns, supervised nursing staff, mentored colleagues, and led with strong clinical judgment and empathetic communication to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.

She is committed to delivering timely, high-quality care with warmth and respect for every patient she serves.
